Bringing joy and health to your dog’s life is a priority for any pet parent. One way to do just that is by choosing the right treats. Nowadays the pet treat aisle is filled with an array of options, but freeze-dried treats stand out as a superior choice for your best companion. Let’s dive into why freeze-dried treats are the top pick for discerning dog owners so that we are better informed about why freeze dried treats will always be our first choice for treats!
1. Retained Nutritional Value:
Freeze-drying is a unique preservation process that locks in the nutritional value of the ingredients. Unlike traditional cooking methods that often involve high temperatures, freeze-drying minimizes heat exposure. This means that the treats maintain the essential vitamins, minerals, and enzymes that contribute to your dog’s overall well-being. When you choose freeze-dried treats, you’re ensuring that your dog gets the most out of every bite.
This also means that the freeze dried treats are drier and crunchier than other alternatives.
2. Limited Processing and Wholesome Ingredients:
Freeze-dried treats often boast a simpler ingredient list compared to many commercial dog treats. They are typically crafted from whole, single-source ingredients, making it easy for pet owners to understand exactly what they’re offering their furry friend. Fewer additives, preservatives, and fillers mean you can treat your dog to wholesome goodness without unnecessary extras.
Purebites brand listed below uses ‘human grade’ meat. So we are not giving our pups the left over unhealthy fats, we are actually giving them good meat that we could also eat.
3. Extended Shelf Life, No Preservatives:
You don’t want to worry about your dog’s treats going stale or spoiling quickly. Freeze-dried treats come to the rescue with an extended shelf life, all without the need for artificial preservatives. This feature allows you to stock up and have treats readily available for rewarding good behavior, training, or just sharing moments of affection with your pup. (I keep treats in my
4. Portability and Convenience:
Whether you’re on a training adventure or a spontaneous outdoor excursion, the lightweight and portable nature of freeze-dried treats makes them a breeze to carry along. These treats are perfect for on-the-go rewarding, ensuring that your dog stays motivated and engaged wherever your adventures take you.
Make sure you read the CONS section of the treat options below. Since the moisture is taken out during the process, the result could be more fragile treats. Store them in a place where they dont get crushed!

5. Irresistible Flavor and Texture:
Dogs can be picky eaters, but freeze-dried treats often boast an irresistible flavor and enticing texture that appeals to even the most discerning pups. The process locks in the natural taste and aroma of the ingredients, making these treats an enticing choice for training or simple indulgence.
In conclusion, freeze-dried treats are a premium choice for dog owners who want the best for their four-legged companions. So go ahead, treat your furry friend to the very best—because they deserve it!
ARASHI APPROVEDTM TREATOS

FREEZE DRIED CHICKEN
This brand creates freeze dried treats in different sizes. They are pretty transparent about their ingredients, made in USA, and contain pretty low calories. These are really healthy.
CON: The chicken option crumbles very quickly. So you must be careful when handling the bag as it becomes annoying to contain the treats in pouches and pockets once they crumble.
Pricey compared to other treats but its better than paying for a vet! These treats last a while too.
The ziploc is really annoying. To be honest, i hate ziplocs and ‘closing’ them so this could be a personal problem! I put my treats in a jar in my kitchen, and some in air tight container in my sunroom to avoid them from breaking and keep them fresh.

FREEZE DRIED BEEF LIVER
Same brand as above, less crumbly. I always prefer chicken for daily use but keep this in my treat closet to switch things up.

FREEZE DRIED BEEF LIVER
Another option for freeze dried beef liver that come in larger bags, and more affordable.
The great thing about this one is that the pieces are larger and harder to break.
CON: You have to make sure to follow the feeding instructions to ensure you don’t over feed the pup.
It also contains more calories than the previous options above.
